Smart City Mission

The conceptualisation of Smart City, varies from city to city and country to country, depending on the level of development, willingness to change and reform, resources and aspirations of the city residents.A smart city would have a different connotation in India than Europe. Even in India, there is no one way of defining a smart city.

Keeping in mind the benefits of population, development of the city and solving various infrastructure & social issues happening in the metropolis,Lucknow Municipal Corporation has been formed as an essential government body whose main motive is betterment of populace and municipal activities of the city.

As per the Government of India guidelines, Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has formed a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) as Lucknow Smart City Limited. For the implementation of projects under the smart city mission for the city of Lucknow.This SPV shall carry end to end responsibility for vendor selection, implementation, and operationalization of various smart city projects.
